A busy weekend….

Here are the details for you:

⚽ Under 6/7/8 (School years 3 and below) will be back at Herbert’s Farm Playing Fields with Andrew Heinrich, 9am to 10am.

⚽ Under 9s (Year 4) are training at Crabtrees with Trevor Bissett, 9am to 10.30am

⚽ Under 10s (Year 5) are training at Crabtrees with Trevor Bissett, 9am to 10.30am

⚽ Under 11s (Year 6) have a match away at Coton with Rob Lewin (those not playing, please go to Crabtrees!

⚽ Under 12s (Year 7) are training at Crabtrees with Paul Player and Nate Weersing at 9am to 10.30am

⚽ Under 13 Blues (Year 8 ) have a match away at Newmarket with John Oakes

⚽ Under 13 Blacks (Year 8 ) Have a friendly match away at Linton with Paul Carter.

⚽ Under 14 (Year 9) – No fixture and coach going to watch Liverpool v Man Utd, so have a nice weekend off! 😀

⚽ Under 16 (Year 10/11) have a match away but Matthew Gill is to confirm if it is proceeding or not…

St Ives Rangers Colts U8 Girls vs Saffron Walden PSG U8 Girls

SW PSG U8s travelled to St Ives for a windy and challenging match on their 3G pitch. The girls worked hard throughout the game and were rewarded with 3 goals - 2 scored by Ruby and 1 by Grace. Saffron Walden PSG U14 Girls 4 - 3 Glinton and Northborough FC U14 Girls

SW PSG FC U14 Girls hosted Glinton & Northborough FC U14 Girls at Crabtrees this Saturday. Playing into the wind SW PSG were quickly a goal down with a good strike from the Glinton & Northborough team following a corner kick. As the game progressed Glinton were on top but in response PSG defended well. Against the play, Emily managed to break free on the left, run into the box and finish at the second attempt to bring SW PSG level. SW PSG then conceded a bizarre goal direct from a corner when everyone seemed to stop. SW PSG were 2-1 down at half time but hopes were high as the girls had played a great passing game in the first period and had the wind on their side in the second half.

Within ten minutes after the restart, SW PSG were in front. Two excellent goals from Emily breaking into the penalty area from the left on both occasions with two cool finishes completed her hat-trick. SW PSG were in control and looked like scoring more, with Emily and Hollie combining well and the midfield of Charlotte, Amelia, Annabel, Shanon and Orla penning Glinton back.

A quick break from the Glinton forwards and they were level. The game had swung round completely but Megs, Connie and Ella battled hard to stop Glinton scoring again and a couple of good saves by Lily kept SW PSG in the game. The game swung again, SW PSG hit the post and Emily had the ball in the net but was ruled out for offside. The end to end play continued until a decisive break, SW PSG worked the ball forward into the box and smashed the ball home for the winning fourth goal.
